Installation of built-in furniture in Porto

After finishing renovations in an apartment or house, the question of installing a built-in kitchen and cabinets always inevitably arises.

Installation of built-in furniture Portugal

If we take multi-apartment buildings, then as a rule, apartments have more or less the same type of built-in furniture, which at the moment is not only the most popular, but can also be acceptable for any owners. That is, the furniture is usually as versatile as possible and not too expensive to have a competitive price on the market.

In new buildings, the most popular is a built-in kitchen with facades made of white-painted MDF. At the same time, the body of the cabinets (both upper and lower) is usually made of ordinary chipboard, which significantly reduces the final cost. Sometimes you can find facades made of veneered MDF, which undoubtedly adds coziness to the final result.

During the installation of a built-in kitchen, it is necessary to observe a number of nuances and always remember them. So you need to buy built-in appliances in advance or know the schemes for their installation in advance. This applies to the refrigerator, dishwasher, oven and microwave. Moreover, as far as the dishwasher is concerned, a body for it is usually not made and it is simply inserted between two cabinets, and covered from above by a single countertop.

Sinks that are glued to the countertop from below look very cool. They have also become increasingly popular lately. As a rule, they are glued to a countertop made of stone. But they also look great in combination with a countertop made of compact slab. The cheapest material for a countertop is postforming, but it is also the most impractical material. Nevertheless, it is actively used in secondary repairs. However, it will not work to glue the countertop to it from below, since in this case it will be necessary to cut the protective layer, and the inner layer made of glued sawdust will quickly swell and the countertop will deteriorate. Only overhead sinks are suitable for postforming countertops, which must be silicone-coated around the perimeter to prevent water from leaking under them. As for countertops made of stone or compact slab, we recommend installing them under the tiles laid out in the work area in order to increase the area of their contact with the wall and to seal this entire area as thoroughly as possible with silicone so that water cannot penetrate inside.

As for the installation of built-in cabinets, as in the case of a built-in kitchen, the geometry of the walls into which this furniture will be built is very important. After all, if you put a straight cabinet against a crooked wall, it will not look very good. It is especially important to make niches for built-in furniture correctly and each time try to bring the corners at 90 degrees so that all the furniture fits as clearly and neatly as possible. If this cannot be ensured, it is better for the niche to widen slightly towards the back wall, then the cabinet will fit easily and everything will look perfect from the front. The worst thing is when one corner is sharp and the adjacent one is obtuse: it is impossible to build a cabinet into such a niche and after its installation you will need to perform many actions aimed at eliminating the shortcomings. But it is easier to prevent such situations than to correct them later.
